In the South Seas the name Millane refers to a scent that create a positive atmosphere. This is the phenomenon that Indonesian-born and since 1998 living in Germany Millane Fernandez conveys to her music. Caribbean rhythms, enriched with a portion of Hip-Hop, Reggae, R`n`B and Funk, backing a soulful voice. Millane presents the diversity of the tropics, powerful and self confident. Lightness fills her singing: combined with thoughtful lyrics, a sparkling mixture unfolds.
Rather than producing an impenetrable confusion, the mix allows the listener to experience the difference cultural influences in the music. The demand is universal, the communication very personal. Even the heavy Monsoon rainfall in Indonesia can not hide the fact that a volcano is bubbling. In the same way, Millane bubbles to set her energy free; when she does, nothing holds her back.

Born in Jakarta on July 23, 1986 and spending her youth in Hamburg, Millane became involved in the pop scene at an early age. She speaks many languages fluently and knows how to move. Her strong voice brought her a first record deal at just 14 years of age. From among more then 1000 young competitors, she came out on top; her first single titled Boom Boom and selling over 100.000 copies, was produced by Dieter Bohlen. She performed in the first round for the 2001 Eurovision Grand-Prix, sang at The Dome, on Top of the Pops, TV-Total, VIVA Comet, Interaktiv and many other stages. Following this meteoric start, Millane decided to return to the ground and focuss on finishing her schooling. For a while, she also persued her third passion (besides singing and dancing) fashion design.
Millane inherited her talent from her father Jeffrey, a guitar player and, according to his daughter, a great singer. Following in her father's footsteps, Millane took singing lessons, and she is also a dedicated saxophone player and has taken dancing lessons at the Hamburg Stage School.
In 2003 she returned fully to music, playing the lead role in the musical ‘Time After Time’, going on tour with North German television (NDR), singing in a gospel choir and performing with artists such as Dave Dee, Mongo Jerry and Graham Harrison. Music is in her blood, no doubt about it.
After the years of gaining experience as a live performer, she started working together with an old school friend, the producer Pierce Vaughn. The result is a series of great recordings. The time is right: Millane has grown up and is no longer a pop chick. She wants to produce authentic music, that meet her own demands. Millane's roots are in different continents, her influences are diverse. She takes advantage of her emotional and musical range to produce a impressive body of work.

In May 2007 Millane won the VJ Hunt of MTV Indonesia. She said ‘Music is my soul and now is the time to make my dream a little bit closer’. Besides her new job she’s still devoting her music and is very close to the completion of her first own album.
